"anti-war" [Jul. 11th, 2004|10:38 am]

[music |Blind Guardian - "The Wizards Crown"]

It makes me laugh: all of the people who say that they're "anti-war" and "anti-death".

I'm sorry, but this war is going on, and there nothing we can do to stop it by sitting around all day and hoping that it ends, or pretending that it doesn't exist. It's a kill or be killed type of lifestyle that we all have to adopt.

I myself have yet to kill anyone (and I'm glad about that), but I'm sure the time will come when i will have to kill. I know that i won't enjoy killing them, but if I'm faced with a dark wizard thats eager to kill me, I know that I'm not just going to stand there and let him have his way with me.

I'm sorry for the outburst, but all of you silly "anti-war" people need a severe attitude change because this war isn't going anywhere any time soon"

You're in need of a severe change of attitude. Anti-War people don't seem to go off spouting nonsense without thinking about the consequences, it seems the 'Light' side does however.

I agree with Lisa here - we do not need an attitude change. You do, Entwhistle. Yes, if I have to defend myself, I will, but I am not going to join a hunting gang and hunt. This is not a game. Enough people are dead and as my Mother was one of the first to get killed - I think I have the right to choose an Anti-War attitude and NO ONE can tell me that I cannot do that.
There is a difference between defence and attack, you know.
Like Lisa, I choose life.

I'm sorry for my tone. I did not by any means try to say that you should go out there looking for people to kill, but I just think that people who are staying out of the war aren't doing anything to help.

If i could have this war end right now, I would, but I think that something has to be done. I probably won't be the one to do it, but if its a means of ending the war with us winning, I will support them through it.

No offence taken... I think I know what you mean, and I have to say, I know what this feels like as well. I have tried to stay out of the war, even after my Mother died, but I don't think I - or anyone else for that matter - can still justify that.

And I dont think there will be winners. Even if the 'Light' wins, I will have lost. I will have lost my Mother, probably my brother - and who else? I have nothing to gain from it and the victory will be an empty one.

You're right. There will be no clear winners in this war, as most of us have already lost much. I personally have not felt a severe loss from this war, but many of my friends have, and that pains me.

However, I look towards tohe future for the children of the next generation, so that they will have a slightly more peaceful world to live in. That is what I meant by the light side "winning": Not having the Dark Ones rule over us for eternity.
